Common Name: Trumpeter Swan Species: Cygnus buccinator

Conservation: Least Common Range: Alaska and Western Canada and north-central United States during the breeding season, and coastal British Columbia and central United States during the nonbreeding season and migration Habitat: Marshes, ponds, lakes, streams, rivers, and other freshwater bodies of water, occasionally bordering wheat and corn fields during migration

Ornithologist's Notes: So, obviously, these guys look incredibly similar to the Tundra Swan (Cygnus columbianus), which makes sense as they're sister species. Where the Tundra is a species with some variation in size, the Trumpeter Swan is HUGE. The largest swan species in North America, these guys are called Trumpeters because of the iconic noise they make. And I'll get to that in a second, don't you worry. Anyway, the image above is an approximation of their relative size, but just know that the Tundra is significantly smaller than the Trumpeter, and the Mute is...close in size to the Trumpeter. I'll rig up a comparison image one of these days, probably when I get through all of the Anseriformes on my life list.

Life List Notes: I love Trumpeter Swans. They're big, they're beautiful, and they happen to be one of the birds that inspired my love of birds as an adult. Thank you to E.B. White, and the book The Trumpet of the Swan, which was one of my favorites as a kid. Looking back on it now, it has some...issues, admittedly, and it's very old-fashioned, but I loved it all the same. It actually got me into jazz music (the main swan is named Louis) too, and I ended up going to Cornell University for my undergrad, which was E.B. White's alma mater, so it means a lot to me! And that's why it was incredible to see these guys (kinda out of their range) in central New York, right in White's stomping grounds, for the first time many years ago. Big, loud, gorgeous, memorable...I love 'em. Plus, it's the last swan I'll be drawing for this, because I haven't seen Whooper Swan (Cygnus cygnus) yet, and need to do more birding outside of the USA.

What I’m charging each sign to enter my DJ house party

Aries- $3.50 Mischievous, wild and hypes up the crowd. Taxed bc they might start arguing with someone or getting loud if they’re too intoxicated. Spends most of their time on the dance floor. Is the one who doesn’t want the night to end so they find a 2nd location to go to once the party dies down. Flirty.

Taurus- $6 Chill but might complain if there’s nowhere to sit and if no party favors were provided (Side note: I love Tauruses bc no matter what space they’re in they’ll find a way to make themselves comfortable). Came for the music and needed a setting to show off their cute fit, but mainly came for the music.

Gemini- Gets charged $2 but somehow talks themselves out of having to pay to get in. Social chameleons; will literally spot a person sitting by themselves and invite them to hang. Overall good presence and is running around the entire time looking for people to engage with.

Cancers- $10 Sitting in a corner somewhere if they even do decide to show up. They’ll only go if someone is going with them and is familiar with the space, but might end up looking for reasons to leave. Making sure their friends don’t get too drunk and might get overstimulated easily by all the noise and people.

Leos- $4 They’re just vibing soaking up the atmosphere. Draws people towards them for conversation and is probably sharing their outlandish stories. Depending on if the party is hype or not will determine how long they’ll stay and how much they’re socializing.

Virgos- $2 They’re either one of the hosts or helped set up the party and/or will help clean up. They’re at the front door letting people in and people go to them if there’s a grievance. Might be a little fussy and anxious about things getting broken or people being too drunk but overall their presence is valued.

Libras- $4 Knows a lot of people at the party and engaging in a lot of small talk. They’re chill as long as everyone’s having a good time. Probably friends with the DJ.

Scorpios- $15 Comes to literally determine whether or not it’s worth it to stay OR says they’ll come but never shows up. Ends up staying for 40min max if they do come and the whole time they’re just quietly judging people out of suspicion.

Saggies- $7 Didn’t plan on coming but knew they’d get FOMO if they didn’t. If they’re in a good mood they’ll be socializing and pulling people in asking their opinions on whatever topic comes to mind. Might pull out a board/card game or share their party tricks.

Cappies- $12 Too strict to fully unwind and enjoy the night. Busy thinking about things they gotta do the next day. Probably doesn’t even go inside and is standing outside the door next to Virgo asking them questions for most of the night. Keeps checking the time.

Aquarians- $2.50 Taxed bc the party ended like 3 hours ago and they’re still there but whatever they’re enjoying themselves. Either stone cold sober or completely obliterated. Knows all of the exits in the space.

Pisces- $7 Likes the idea of a party but when they show up they might wanna leave. If they do like the ambiance of the party they’ll provide substances and start deep conversations as icebreakers to help loosen themselves and others up. Either knows a ton of people or knows no one.

Has had like 7 over the course of his life.

He writes so much random crap in them too!

Dreams, recipes for things, sketches of prototypes, ideas for new things, and brain rot thoughts to just throw into the void.

Eventually got smart enough to keep a separate journal about you two in your home where Viktor hopefully won’t find it because that one is FILTHY!

He purposely leaves his other one in more peculiar places for Viktor to snoop in because he ABSOLUTELY KNOWS Viktor loves to snoop.

The one about you is bound in dark blue leather and was a gift from you when you saw him pick it up at one of the book stores you would meet at.

It’s just him musing about you, drooling over certain parts of your body that he then DRAWS.

The man has an anatomy textbook basically of just YOU.

So MANY NAKED SKETCHES.

He even writes about love bites you give him and just gushes about how perfect and sexy he thinks you are.

Babe has it so BAD for you lol.

It’s not creepy tho!

He mostly just sketches when you’re asleep, he knows you’d be embarrassed, but they’re just for him anyway.

He just has so many feelings and putting them on paper is something he really enjoys doing! It’s relaxing for him to just see you sleeping spread out all over the blankets after he’s absolutely wrecked you.

It’s probably his favorite sight in the whole world to see you half covered by sheets completely in the nude.

He especially loves when your tits are out.

He could stare at them forever and he’d still want more time to commit them to his memory.

He isn’t hiding it from you though, he hopes to show you some of his favorites sometime and maybe he could even convince you to pose for him (do it the man will freaking go FERAL after).

You were completely knocked out.

Limbs a sprawling mess, lips parted, and sheets tangled and bunched haphazardly around you.

The day had been long, and far too warm for your liking.

After you finally got home from the junk shop you worked in, you quickly showered to wash the sweat and grime from the day away; and promptly cranked your air conditioning unit to max.

You were so exhausted you didn’t even bother with clothes, your boyfriend slept naked most of the time anyway so you knew he wouldn’t mind.

You unceremoniously plopped on the bed and pulled up the thin sheet as the cool air blew on you, finally getting a chance to relax.

When said boyfriend walked through the door to his apartment, he couldn’t help but smile at the sight of you.

He loved that you trusted him enough to be in such a vulnerable state in his bed.

Jayce dreamily drank in the moment before carefully making his way over to a decorative globe in the corner of the room and lifting the top.

He reached in, grabbed the journal, and fountain pen he kept along with it, and made his way over his desk.

It was conveniently illuminated by the reading lamp you often left on when you got home before him.

The large vanity mirror that hung across from the bed always had the most perfect view of you from where he was sitting.

You were such a messy sleeper when you were restless and overheated, the sheets often getting discarded near your legs or on the floor.

This left Jayce with a clear view of your uncovered chest; your pretty nipples on display just for him.

It was always difficult for him to just sit there looking at how beautiful you were but not really being able to express it in the moment.

That’s how the drawings started, as a way to pour his deep overwhelming pride and adoration for you when maybe you weren’t there at the time, or in this case, off in dreamland.

He’d wake you up with his tongue later ( your favorite way to be awoken).

But for now, he’d enjoy the quiet peace of the moment, and the soothing sounds of occasional tiny snores.

Questions are happening!! HAZZAH!!!

Soooo here's the thing, I am really neither. My perfect day is going to bed at 10:30 and waking up at 7-8 and I think that counts as both or neither.

My favorite thing to do when I have free time is really anything creative! I have been writing a lot recently but sometimes I will draw, sculpt, sew, knit, etc.

My dream job is to be an author and be able to live comfortably off just what I make from my books :]

Kind of depends on the situation. I usually will not go out of my way to interact with someone (irl) unless I am complimenting them or I am with someone who is more uncomfortable interacting.

I love the fall but my real calling is summer.

My favorite genre to read or watch is mystery, I love a good mystery! Bonus points if it is a lil spooky or supernatural

The first characters that come to mind when I think of ones I see myself in are Raphael (TMNT) and Data (Star Trek: TNG). I have always really resonated with Raph, I think maybe because he is so passionate and caring but people don't really see that part of him because it is overshadowed a lot of the time by his anger. I see myself in Data because he is often othered (by himself and those around him) for "not having emotions" (and being a android) when, in reality, he does have emotions but expresses them in ways different from those around him.

For an actual place I would say New Zealand, it seems so beautiful. But I would really just like to live in a place close to all my friends.

I want to say a dog because I have always wanted to be a dog but I think it would be really nice to be a fish. A pretty one too, like a Betta or a big ass sun fish

Supernatural was my first experience with fandom and I think that did a lot for me.

I'm not sure if I really have one? Maybe when a situation or conflict alludes to things that happened/are happening in the real world.

- 5 Days a stranger Intro.

20 years ago on this same day 5 Days a Stranger was released, the first in the four game series that is Chzo Mythos, the series that got me into horror games and one of my favorite videogame series in general, I discovered this game way back in 2014 thanks to Patron L's let's play, and like to come back to replay it as well as it's sequels every few years.

They are really great, completely free, and coud run on a toaster, I'll leave a link to the post I did a few years back recomending the games for anybody interested as I also link them there.

The original idea was to mix both images into one, but I didn't like how the cut looked and also it kinda makes it look like the fire part happened first due to being on the left, which isn't the case.

The first image is of course the Iconic tittle screen, changed the mountains in the back, added more shadows to the mannor and less to Trilby, widened the space since I think it looks better, and changed the doors to the ones you actually see in game.

The second image is of course of the ending cutscene as it pararels the tittle screen, added a bunch of police cars as well as Jim, Niccole & the Policeman from the close up cutscene, completley reworked how the fire, the windows and the door look & added a little John DeFoe easter egg. Honestly this is my favorite of the two, I think the fire came out really great, even if the glow looks kinda bad.
